To the left you see a photo of my teaching avatar in Teen Second Life. I work with rural high school students from five districts in the virtual world under a consortium called Skoolaborate. That's the most interesting part of my work. I am an assistant superintendent for an education service agency in the Pacific Northwest.
Below you see my teaching avatar on the adult grid in Second Life. I also take graduate courses through Boise State University's Department of Educational Technology.
My professional interests are education, teaching and learning, educational technology, bilingual education, professional development, and data-driven accountabillity in professional practice. My personal interests include travel, culture, languages, music, literature, art, technology, and all things Celtic. in taking their students into three-dimensional immersive virtual worlds to explore collaborative learning experiences while
meeting district and state standards in any subject area. We are part of a consortium of over 60 schools in a safe, secure
online environment where the students interact with licensed teachers and attending students of member schools from ten countries.
